I'm currently have three projects on the go, what can I say but I get bored easily….LOL Granny squares form the basis of all three blankets. Over time I've accumulated a collection of odd skeins and I was looking for ways to put them to use. These projects allow for a mixture of colours and quantity of yarn. Voila an easy way to de-stash. I love quilts but sewing is not my forte. Here’s a way of quilting using crochet squares. I’m making a “puzzle” quilt. I’m using this image I found on Pinterest as a guideline. For this blanket I’m making 3 row granny squares. It’s been quite a while since I’ve made a blanket using the “join-as-you-go” method so when I saw this blanket on Pinterest I thought it would be an interesting way of whittling down those larger odd skeins of yarn. I'm making 6 strips of 8 - 6 row squares. Here’s how far I’ve gotten… My goal is to finish at least two of these blankets by the end of September. I’m giving myself plenty of time as I can no longer crochet for long periods of time. Stay tuned for the final creations.
