Winter Items Challenge 2010
Who is up for a new challenge? Last year Warming Families worked with Lands End to collect over 25,000 hats. This year we have a new challenge, a winter items challenge that will run from July 1st through to December 31st, 2010. The Warming Family organization has set no specific goal other than to contribute as many hats, ear warmers, scarves and mittens/gloves as possible to those in need but as a chapter I'm sure we can collect at least 400 items.
We're looking for items that will fit infants through to the elderly. If you knit, crochet or knit loom or know someone who does here is a great opportunity to help members in our local community. You can use any pattern of your liking; all we ask is that the yarn be washable. In addition to the crafted items we are also looking for pictures and comments on your experience making the articles.
For those interested in participating please contact Dalyce Newby at [email protected] for more details. All items collected by Dalyce will be distributed in the Greater Toronto Area. Or if you plan to donate items to a shelter in your area and wish them counted towards our project counts please let her know. If you live outside of this area please go the Warming Families site to find a chapter where you can donate to.
